A hardy perennial herb with feathery leaves
and yellow flowers in late summer.
It has an aniseed flavour,
and slight aniseed aroma.
Most striking in the herb border as
it can grow to 5ft tall.
It need a well drained loamy soil in full sun
and does well in tubs or pots.
The leaves and stalks can be cooked with Fish, Pork and Veal,
the seeds can be used in fruit pies.
Medicinally, it is said to aid slimmers with
the digestion of fatty foods,
and an infusion of the seeds makes an eyewash.
Chewing the seeds quells tummy rumbles
and is said to reduce cravings.
Flower arrangers love this plant for its feathery texture.
The plants are grown in 9cm(3inch) pots, which are not included in the item to keep postage reasonable. Included in the item, where available, is the coloured label as seen in the photograph, which gives cultural and usage tips.
